I had barely woken up and my parents asked me if I wanted to go to Taitung with them. In my half-asleep state I turned down the offer. I watched my family walk out of the door from the floor I was laying on. I was now alone in our house.

My brother and I were on our way to a wedding that was being held at a chapel that I kept mistakenly calling a cathedral. We were cross a bridge when we started to talk about genetics.

I was thinking about diving into the pool as we sat by the waterfall. “Are there any sharp objects in the water?” I asked. They said it depended on what kind of grasses were growing under the surface.
