Instead of boarding the aircraft, all of the passengers were led into an underground basement with dining tables. It was a large open space, lit up by blue lights and the glow of projector screens. The airline welcomed us to a celebratory dinner for flying on their one millionth flight. As we ate, they talked about their growth over the years and the changes that led up to this milestone. Rather abruptly, they started to talk about changes in Overwatch.

We had decided to go to their apartment so we ran into the underground parking lot to take the elevator without going through the front door. They rang the front desk with the intercom to tell the security guard to let us up. After waiting around for a few minutes, they walked across the lot and through another door, promising that they would be quick.

I faintly recalled taking a nap before waking up in the windowless room. While the walls of the office were bare, the shelves were lined by books written by a professor whose name I did not recognize. The room not only lacked windows, but it also had a door so small that one might mistake it for a fire extinguisher cabinet.

We were given a quiz in class about Pokemon. Or rather, it was given to test our comprehension of a book about Pokemon that ultimately measured whether or not we bothered to read it. One of the prompts was a multiple choice question with the option to choose between Magikarp or Clefairy.

A friend and I were working together on a stats problem. We were supposed to do some kind of calculation as a measure of the error in our model. After a series of hasty approximations, he said that we had 0 error. I told him, “No, we can’t do that.”

When I got back into my seat, I noticed that the group I was watching anime with earlier in the night were still in the call. I opened up the stream again to see that they were now watching hentai and someone had already gotten drunk within 30 minutes of my departure. “What’s happening in here?” I asked without much of a response.
