I walked up to the front gate of the park with my bike where I was asked to show ID. I gave the person my student ID which got rejected. I then gave him my national ID, to which he asked if I wanted to use another one but let me through anyways. I thought that I had seen my brother while riding through the park but I didn’t stop.

It was only until I finished reading the book that I realized I was reading a biography of the author instead of one of his science fiction short stories. I walked out of my room to see my dad leaving for the morning. Someone asked me how I was able to carry my water bottle around so effortlessly. I joked that it was because I had a strong mind and was able to counteract the effects of being in a dream.

I had accidentally deleted all of the notes I had taken on my phone in my half-conscious state after waking up in bed. I frantically searched up how to undo such deletions online to no avail. I was frustrated at myself for never backing up my phone.

It was Friday and I had just finished my only class of the day. It was so early in the morning that it was still dark out. Various partially erased portraits of clowns were on the chalkboard. Some students were asking someone how they had managed to book a band to come to our campus. “Just do it early” was their answer.

A friend and I were texting back and forth about plans to watch a movie this afternoon. I fell asleep soon afterwards.

We had been living in a small house on the beach for a few days and I had gotten myself settled into a comfortable daily routine. I was already back from a nice walk through the forest on the island and it was now getting dark. Someone was playing a trivia game on their phone while the wind outside continued to rage on. After a brief moment of hesitation, I decided to step out to sea in the storm. I thought that the salt water would help reduce a bit of the bloat I was feeling in my body.

We were sitting in the living room when someone made a sound.

We were browsing the hardware store and in my hand I was holding a freeze bomb and sleep bomb contained in packs in ramen. I was supposed to throw them out in that order for maximum effectiveness but I kept throwing the sleep hypnosis pack onto the floor, leaving me no choice but to jump to pick it back up before it activated.

I walked into the grocery store and saw him standing in front of the vegetables again. I asked if he had really been standing here for the past four hours and he denied it while holding a carrot. We started talking about what he was going to take next semester. He was thinking about taking a few history classes.

We were sitting on the grass talking about what we were thinking of writing our theses about. An acquaintance that I hadn’t seen in a year walked up to us and asked me in particular if I wanted to play League of Legends. I told him that I’ll pass and he continued walking along with his friend until he stopped and circled back around.
