I was putting on my bulletproof vest as we were getting ready to go on a tour of the city. I put on my yellow reflective jacket and asked my brother if he thought the others were going to join us. “I doubt they will” he replied. He said he would teach us how to run away if they didn’t. We were originally going to be going into an “indoor city” but we ended up simply walking around town.

I woke up to a flurry of activity as we were rushing to pack up and get out of the room. We were leaving about 6 hours earlier than planned. As we were paying for the room, we had to reveal to someone on the trip with us that we were not actually staying at a friend’s house. I hopped into the shower just as someone else came out.

I had agreed beforehand that I would catch the 1 o’clock ferry to school in order to go to PE class with someone. Before that could happen though, I still had to finish polishing the floors of the building. When it was nearly 1, I stood up in search of a restroom but wasn’t able to find one in time and ended up missing the ferry. Someone complimented the floor and I replied “isn’t it pretty?” I walked up the stairs with my phone in my hand, wondering how my laptop was still acting as a wifi hotspot even though it was hibernating.

I had walked into the airport security line without grabbing a boarding pass from the check-in counter first. Everything went fine until after I had already set everything onto the conveyor belt. For a brief moment, the belt went by extremely quickly before coming to a sudden halt. As I looked to my left, I saw a toddler crawling into the X-ray machine. I froze as I was sure that I was the only one that saw what happened but words failed to come out of my mouth. Nothing was coming out of the other side when I suddenly realized that I had forgotten to check in my luggage. I ran back to the check-in counter to get my boarding pass before getting back in line. When I got to the scanners, I struggled to tell the security personnel that I had already passed my items through earlier and was looking for them. He simply laughed and said that I would have to pay extra to ship it back since some guy probably already ran off with my stuff.

I had just dyed my hair purple and was going to wash my hair for the first time since. My dad kept saying how I still needed to rinse it out as I walked into the shower.
