we were sitting in front of the television and my father was registering me for Taiwan’s military draft. My mother was surprised and thought it was really clever of him to register online instead of by mail. For some reason my dad filled in my sex as Female on the form so I asked him why. “Why not?” he responded and said that it didn’t really matter. I was really confused as I was sure that this would have consequences during my time in service. Furthermore, our information was going to be displayed on large “flags” before our training.

I followed closely behind their steps and we were heading towards the balcony on the top floor when she vanished. I immediately turned back and into the bathroom of another bedroom on the same floor. I was able to communicate in morse code by flickering the lights in the bathroom. When I came out, my sister-in-law informed me that our family was going to watch a movie together downstairs.

We were in an apartment that had a personal aquarium installed on one side. There was one tank with a curved panel on the outer edge as well oval tank you could walk around that went from the floor to the ceiling. A metal railing traced across the outer panel. The smaller tank had a few subdivisions that housed a variety of turtles.

We were sitting around a table in a room with a black board. There were a sequence of 1s and 0s written on the board in chalk. These were supposedly the results of an unnumbered amount of dice rolls. We had to guess what the average roll was.

We were meeting up with a family friend after our flight had landed. I was able to see a map of the area and we were to meet at “The Ronnie House” which was by the shore. There was also a fairly large library near by. I hailed a taxi and told the driver that I wanted to go to the library, thinking that it wouldn’t be too bad to walk the rest of the way. The driver complained that the library was too far away but agreed to take me there anyways.

… We walked up to one of the stalls by the road that was selling an assortment of food. I had 200 NT on me and I asked how much the sugar apples cost. They seemed to be coated with some kind of orange powder. The lady told me to not bother as it was way too expensive. I instead opted for a bag of cuttlefish strips which cost 125. I got my change back in the form of a handful of coins which I then promptly dropped and had to pick up off of the sidewalk.

We were flipping through my brother’s old yearbook and the first few pages of the book detailed all of the various clans and daimyos of Japan’s warring period. They each had an illustrated portrait and a photo of someone dressed in their clothing accompanying their short blurbs about their life history. The following few pages were dedicated to the school’s basketball team.

We were assigned to explore around the area while also filling out a workbook with a partner full of prompts asking us about out surroundings. It seemed to have been sometime in the summer. There were some rather amusing options for the fill-in-the-blank sections, one permutation that stood out in particular was “X surprised Y with a waterfall in the ocean.”

I was walking with my brother through the department store looking for water. He was holding a pink clear round plastic container. There seemed to be liquid swishing back and forth inside. I asked him if it would be okay if the water was recycled and he said no. The broadcasting system announced that the store was closing in 30 minutes. We eventually reached what seemed to be a fountain.

I had just dreamt about someone and when I woke up I decided to check out their Instagram (which I don’t even use). I was accessing a Mac in front of a window from which one could see a group of monkeys playing in the pool on the other side. They each also wore their own costumes and someone called them “wide-eyed cooperatives”. Someone to the right of me asked what I was up to and I got rather embarrassed. I had to leave anyways as my bus was arriving. I accelerated away from my inquisitor, desk and all. “Bye” I waved meekly.
