I was outside on a sunny afternoon and looked down as a white envelope was handed to me. I opened up the piece of paper inside expecting the worst- I had gotten a D and an F for two separate courses.

It was the last day of class but I still needed to finish my physics homework. I hadn’t even started and I flipped open my book to find that I had 26 questions to do by 12 noon. My water bottle fell out of my bag and I asked the people around me to find the missing parts as I remembered it had a shattered cap.

Our homework assignment was to create a computer game and its manual. Only a few hours were left before we had to turn it in but I had barely started on the project. I had decided to make a very simplistic obstacle course game where one had to dodge moving circles.

Whenever I held my hand and foot against the light, there were spots where it appeared as if there were holes through my flesh. These spots were especially prominent on my ankle and palm as I kept inspecting them under the light from the ceiling. “I think it’s called Alder’s disease?” I told someone sitting in front of me. The instrumentals to the song also resembled vaporwave. Apparently the name of the girl singing was “Hajeemer”.

The president of the college was about to hold a final Q&A session for the year. To pass the time before it started, I was sitting in another room watching a documentary. There was a scene of a car driving through a twisted uphill residential area.

It was nighttime and everyone was sitting around a square coffee counter. I looked behind me to find a pencil sharpener with a storefront design on its cover. For some reason I thought it would open to an actual store until I pulled out the shavings drawer and saw nothing but the rotating blades lit up from the inside.

I was standing around a burning log and pulled the stump out of its roots. Apparently something was supposed to happen if it was still burning when I pulled it out but the small flames on it weren’t enough to register. I called for help and someone asked “Why don’t you have a candle with you?” as they took out their own blue candle and lit up the roots.
