I was jumping from one part-time job to another. I finally landed in a security post where I had to chase down all the cars passing through the gate in order to ask the drivers to show their ID. I didn’t ask why we didn’t have to check the IDs for all of the passengers as well as I already had plenty to do on my hands.

There was a report on the news how Cathay Pacific had split from Hong Kong and was now on the offense against the People’s Republic of China. They had the support of the United States and the news reporter was mentioning how it was Taiwan’s chance to consider its relationship with the mainland once and for all.

A teacher asked the class a question over an online forum how we were able to determine if someone was in the class roster. He had set up a game server and said how it was a shame that no one was taking advantage of it.

A guest was leaving the classroom and wanted my e-mail so that we could keep in touch. No matter how many times I wrote it down on the sheet of paper, I seemed to keep getting the address wrong. Furthermore my handwriting was near unreadable as my “e"s kept curling into themselves. In the end I resorted to writing down a webpage that I had made sometime in high school in place for my contact information.

I had overslept and woke up in a dark room with the curtains drawn. “We can still go see the movie” my brother said. There was some kind of text to speech program running in the background on his laptop that was set next to the bed. It kept rambling on about hypothetical situations in card games. There was an open bag of pretzels on my chest and I had a packet of math problems in my hand.

I woke up in my new dorm room and my bed was set against the window. Outside I could see the track and a few people walking past. It seemed to be early in the afternoon as the sun was still high in the sky. When I got up from bed, I emptied the contents of my backpack onto it then flipped the mattress over onto the floor. I opened the window which was now level with the bed frame and looked out. Moments later, someone came up and asked me to let them into the building to which I complied. They thanked me as they walked through my room and out of my door into the hallway.

Today was one of the last days that we ate breakfast at the bakery. Someone kept going on and on about how he hated eating here yet continued to come here every single day. Somehow he had gotten a hold of the tip jar and ran for the door until I caught up to him. “I have to tip 10 dollars a day now but next year I have to tip 1 per day” he complained. “Then why come at all?” I asked.

We were getting ready to leave the room to check out of the hotel but I was unable to get up. I laid on top of the sheets as my dad had already went out of the room. When I finally got up, I tried to push my luggage out of the door but was unable to do so as the doorway was too narrow. But apparently this was because we didn’t open the sliding door far enough. As I got out of the door, I was handed a small slip of paper that had “GGT 8″ printed on it.

I was sitting on a bench on the upper floors of the library with some friends. Someone told me that they needed help with writing a paper and so I asked what it was about. They were writing about racism in Japanese culture and the paper was due later in the afternoon. The only advice I gave him was to “pretend the last hour doesn’t exist”.

I was sitting in the car with my brother and he was showing me this new multiplayer side-scrolling fighting game on his phone. The map was somehow translated into a hidden 3D space and my brother asked me who he should play. Frankly I wasn’t too interested as I stared up at the roof of the car.
